“why are the ruby helmets so expensive?

They are not.

Ruby is a small workshop/enterprise located in China, our CEO is French and lives in China too. We are humble regarding our business scale, but of course not so much when this is about acknowledging our expertise and the quality of our helmets.

Each helmet you see on our website is a result of a handmade manufactured process. The making of our helmets, the ‘savoir-faire’, or the production process by itself, is our old-school perfected masterpiece.

Our helmets pass between numerous hands in our production line, depending on the type of helmet you wish to purchase, the lead time for a helmet in process varies between fifty and sixty-four hours… literally. We do not ‘mass produce’, we concentrate all our efforts to be meticulous with our processes and reach the searched-for outcome. We are an independent Atelier (a workshop) which requires constant management for assuring the best quality.

Head-to-toe: We take in personally from composite materials , to automotive coating (primer, base, clear, color, transparent, baking, re-bake, re-work, re-bake etc…), water transfer printing, airbrushing, sanding, wet-sanding, advanced knowledge of sewing process and management of quality control until the final packaging. Nothing is outsourced, everything is done manually here in our Ateliers, step by step. We cover the whole process ourselves, from head to toe making sure that the client becomes satisfied. The workshop maintenance is expensive because of the environmental and other administrative requirements which have become very rigorous in China during the last few years.

Material quality: Each piece of material we use to proceed with production is the best material money can buy, there is no cheating.

Production team: Our production team is proud to hold a solid experience and background within the fields of automotive coating, sanding, sewing. This requires a know-how in multiple different fields at the same time. This by itself is an achievement. This achievement, you can witness through the final quality and appearance of our helmets.

We do not cease to develop and improve all the numerous details in our production allowing you to enjoy the prestige of our helmets. The production of the Ruby helmets are a non-ending route and search for perfection.

Other respectable brands would have you spend the same price for a leather wallet or a handbag, yet as explained above, our product is at least ten times more complex to achieve. This is the reason why ultimately the RUBY helmets are not to be deemed as expensive as you might believe.”
